Thursday I hit week 32 and my "easy" pregnancy all of a sudden became a little harder. On Wednesday, without going into to much detail, something didn't feel right. So I called the doctor's office and they had me come in for some tests. The initial tests came back negative and Emersen's heartbeat was sounding great, so the doctor told me to take it easy and gave me a prescription for antibiotics in case I started feeling worse. So I went back to work and within 2 hours I was having a shooting pain in my back. So I called the doctor's office again and they told me to go get my prescription filled and start taking it right away.
By the time I got the prescription and got home I could barely sit or stand, so I laid down and took a nap. When I woke up the pain wasn't as bad and I was able to take poor Spencer for a short walk. The next morning I woke up and I felt fine, so I thought the antibiotics were running their course and making the pain go away. But then Friday morning the pain woke me up once again at around 5:45 and it was so bad I couldn't even get ready for work, much less think about going to work. I called my doctor as soon as they opened and got another appointment. So I went in and the doctor pretty much told me that all my tests from the other day came back negative, but to remember that I am in my 3rd trimester and I needed to slow down. Spend my weekends relaxing and not on my feet. For me that is easier said than done, I am a busy body. I would go crazy laying on the couch all weekend.
So Friday after work, I did just that. I came home, relaxed and laid on the couch all night. Nate was home from San Francisco so he was able to take Spencer on all his walks that night. Saturday morning I woke up and felt great, I didn't follow the doctor's orders to relax all weekend, but I tried my hardest. I didn't get all my errands done and didn't get the whole house clean, but at least the pain has gone away. So from here on out, I am just going to have to slow down, or at least for the next 8 weeks or so.
Last Saturday my friend Yvett and I had a arts and crafts day. I wanted to get letters and hang them on the wall above the crib. In looking at them online the prices were in my opinion a little high for wood letters that were painted, so Yvett offered to help me out with this little project. We went to Hobby Lobby and got the letters and paint and here is the finished product. They look great and Yvett was a sweetheart and did most of them herself. Once I get the glider in the room and figure out exactly where the crib will be on the wall, we will get them up there, but for now they are on the dresser.
This coming weekend is my shower that my friends Karen, Heather and Yvett are hosting. Moma is coming into town for it, so it will be a fun weekend! Hope everyone has a great week!
