Her future's so bright she has got to wear shades.

Yesterday we reached Emersen's 2 month milestone. As I mention in almost every post, time has been flying by. This past month I feel she she no longer looks like a newborn, but an actual baby. She has gotten these deliciously chunky thighs that i just want to squeeze, and the rest of her is filling in as well. We have also started getting a lot of smiles, laughs and she has recently been getting more vocal. I have already starting teaching her to say mama. Today we had her 2 month appointment at her pediatrician and Emersen is up to 12lbs 2oz and is 22.5" long. She also received her first round of shots, which she did really well with and only cried for a little bit and then fell asleep.

Here are a couple of her 2 month photos.

Spencer decided he wanted to be in the picture as well.

Emersen came into our lives. These past 8 weeks have flown by, at least for me. Very suprising since I wasn't sure how I would be able to handle staying at home. In the past 8 weeks we have had more company than we have had since Nate and I have been together, which has helped the time go by. We had grandma Lee and grammy Mansfield here for the first few weeks and then 2 weeks ago grammy and popa Mansfield came for a long weekend. Now tomorrow grandma and grandpa Lee come for a long weekend, then next week aunt Nikki comes to visit.

Last week we received some news from the daycare Emersen will be going to. Originally we were not going to be able to get in until December, but last week I found out that they can take her when I go back to work in the middle of September. It is good news since now I don't have to search and interview nanny's, but I am still trying to let it sink in that my 12 week old will be going to daycare. Since December of last year when we got into the daycare I had it in my head that she would be 5 months when she finally started, which by then she will be sitting and more active. But now at 12 weeks she can barely hold up her own head. I am sure it will be fine, its just going to take me some time to get used to.

This child can can sleep in any position. Here she is sitting up and sleeping.

So happy!!

I swear she likes bathtime though you would never know it from this shot.

Busy Weekend

This past weekend was a busy one for us. Friday night started off going to dinner with the Ledom's to Pig N Chik. Being at one of the best bbq places in Atlanta didn't really phase Emersen or Madalyne as they both slept the whole time. Us adults were thankful for the quiet time and got to enjoy our bbq and beers.

Saturday started off going up to the Harrison's for Sylvie's 1st birthday. It's hard to believe that she is already a year old. They had burgers and hot dogs for lunch with cupcakes for desert. Karen and Ralph threw a great party and we all had a great time.

Later that evening we went over to the Ledom's for game night. It was us, Matt and April, Nick and Ada and Brad and Jamie with our little girls. We were able to get in one game before the girls woke up hungry. After that we all just hung out and played with the babies. It was nice to have a night out with other couples who have newborns as well.

Here are some recent pictures of Emmie. She is getting bigger by the day it seems. She is now up to 4 ozs when she eats and sometimes wants more. She has also gotten to the point at night that she will go 4 to 5 hours between feedings which I am thankful for.
