Emersen at 3 months
In Emersen's 3rd month of life so much has happened. To me she is finally becoming a little person with a personality, wonderful smile and a little laugh that makes me so happy. This past month some of the bigger events were going on her first trip on a plane, meeting mimi and aunt mindy, starting daycare, found that she can control her feet (which is really funny when she has her jammies on) and really controlling her neck and head. She has also turned into a little slobber monkey as I like to call her. I don't think she is teething yet, but what were once split bubbles, now is just drool going down her chin and onto her clothes. She has now outgrown her 3 month jammies. It got to the point where she couldn't stretch out her legs. I was tempted to cut off the feet, but those are the cutest part of the jammies so instead we moved her into her 6 month ones.

Emersen's trip to Dallas
Last weekend we took our first trip with Emersen to Texas. Mimi and aunt Mindy were visiting Bob and Jeannine and we figured it would be a great time to let Emersen meet her great grandma and her aunt, on top of seeing grammy and papa.
She did really well on the flights, the only thing we learned is that there is not changing stations in the bathrooms on the plane. On the way there, thankfully she was only wet in the air which we could change in our seats. But on the way back we got to experience our first dirty diaper. We knew that we could not change her in our seats knowing if we did we would gas out the entire plane. So we had to take her back to the bathroom and change her there. Thankfully I had bought travel clorox wipes, so I wiped down the whole entire seat area and then we laid her on our changing pad and changed her there. I was still a little disgusted, but there was not really any other option.
In Texas we had a great time. We went over to some old family friends that still lived in Trophy Club who have known me since I was a little girl, so they could meet Emersen. Also Sunday was mimi's birthday. Jeannine got this bundt cake from a place called Nothing bundt Cakes and it was delicious. We came back on Monday and had a day to prepare me for starting work and Emersen starting daycare on Wednesday. Here are some photos from the trip.

The Girls
So this was almost 2 weeks ago, but on Labor day Nate, Emersen and I went up and met Camryn Gary. Heather and Bert's precious baby was born on September 3rd and she is a cutie. Seeing her, I had forgotten that my baby was once that small. They grow so quickly! Also while we were there Ralph, Karen and Sylvie came over for a visit as well. One day Emersen, Sylvie and Camryn will be playing together, but this visit Sylvie was probably the only who even noticed the other girls in the room.
Nate holding Camryn. Look at that hair on Camryn! She has more at 4 days old than Emersen will probably have at her 1st birthday!

Labor Day Weekend
It is Sunday night of Labor Day weekend, Emersen is up in her room hopefully sleeping, and Nate and I are watching some movie on TV eating ice cream. This has been the extent of our weekend. How times have changed from a year ago.
Some good news to report, our friends Heather and Bert had their baby girl on Thursday. Tomorrow Nate, Emersen and I are making the trek up to Cumming to meet Camryn. She is a tiny little girl that came in at 6lbs, 15oz and we can't wait to meet her!
On Friday Emersen and I went up to Woodstock and saw Erin and her new little girl Olivia. She was born two and a half weeks ago and is as sweet as can be. Seeing her made me realize how much Emersen has grown in the past 10 weeks. Olivia is a pound heavier and an inch longer than Emersen was and she still seemed so tiny.
We did have some bad news this week though. Our condo in Buckhead was set on fire by an arsonist. Our condo was not actually burned, but in putting out the fire got completely destroyed. The irony of it all is that we had just put it on the market a few weeks ago. The last set of tenants made Nate realize that he wasn't cut out to be a slumlord. So right now everything is up in the air, there is talk that they are going to rebuild, but who knows at this point. At the moment it looks like we are kind of screwed since we still have to pay the mortgage and HOA every month. We are hoping for the best, maybe they will tear the whole place down and we will get insurance money for it. That is the best case scenario and one that we are hoping for, especially me.
Here are some recent pictures we have taken on Emersen.
