Emersen's Big Day
Emersen is now officially one year old and while this morning she seems no different than yesterday morning, so much has changed over the last year. Our little ray of sunshine has brought so much into our lives and we never knew we could love someone so much. She is no longer the baby that we brought home from the hospital, but a little girl that is full of personality, loves to laugh and gives hugs and is as sweet as can be. I can't wait to see what this next year has in store for us!

Father's Day Suprise
This weekend started what is going to be a really busy few weeks coming up. This weekend started with Madalyne's 1st birthday party and father's day. I didn't take my camera over to the Ledom's yesterday, but the party consisted of beer for the adults, baby pools in the back yard for the kids, and a cupcake that was bigger than my head. It is hard to believe that it has been a year since the girls were born. I remember when April went into labor, and I was so hot and huge, I had major labor envy. Little did I know that Emersen would come 5 days later, which I am forever thankful to her for.
Today, April and I decided to plan an adventure for Nate and Matt and not tell them anything about it. Shocking, neither of us let anything slip and they had no idea of the day that was ahead of them. It started out meeting this morning at the OK Cafe for breakfast. From there we headed up I-75 to Chattanooga, where we spent the remainder of the day at a Brew and Blues fest and then to a local brewery. Both Nate and Matt were completely surprised and even the girls seemed to have a good time. Before today I had only been to Chattanooga once and it was to visit a client, but it is really a nice little city. Both Nate and I agreed that it was a place that we could move. Not that we are looking to move, we still have the condo to sell and who knows when we will be ever able to sell this place. But to date we have never agreed on a place, so this is a start.
So what is to come in the coming weeks? This week we have the grandparents coming in for Emersen's birthday, then the following weekend we are taking Emersen in her first cross country trip to visit our California family.

Memorial weekend
Another week has gone by and it is hard to believe in 18 days Emersen will be 1 year old. Last weekend was Memorial weekend, which meant we had 3 days off work. Woohoo! Bob and Jeannine came into town to visit us, but mostly to see Emersen :)
We had a wedding on Saturday, our friends Ryan and Candace, here in Atlanta. Nate was one of the groomsmen so Friday night and almost all day Saturday Emersen got to hang out with grammie and papa. After the cruise and how she was with my parents we were a little nervous about leaving her. Not that we didn't trust Emersen with Bob and Jeannine, but that she would cry for 9 hours straight and drive them crazy. Friday night I left the house at about her bedtime, there was some crying, but Bob got her bottle ready and got her to sleep not long after I left.
Since the wedding was local, Nate and I decided to have a little stay-cation at the hotel close to the wedding. We got a room at the W in midtown, so that day April and I laid out at the pool and drank some fun poolside drinks. A few hours before the wedding we got ready and then met up with some of the other girls and went over this couple's house that live close to the W and had some pre-wedding wine and cheese. Then from there we walked to the wedding. Nate and the boys didn't get any pool time, but hung out with Ryan most of the day at an Irish pub and then had to get ready for pictures early.
The wedding was nice, reception was fun, then all of us that were away from our babies for the night stayed out way past our bedtimes. We ended up back at the W having come cocktails where we were sitting next to some NY Giant football player. I think his name was Chris something, the drinks and my lack of interest didn't help me remember who the heck he was.
The next morning we were up pretty early and headed back to the house to see how terrible our child had been to her grandparents. It ended up she only cried for a few minutes and then was a complete angel for her grammie and papa the rest of the time. I feel at this point I know my child pretty good, so I find it hard to believe she was good the whole time, but if that is what they want us to think I will believe it for them. We went to breakfast at J. Christopher's and then it was time for Bob and Jeannine to leave already. We were all sad that they had to leave so soon but we will be seeing them once again when they are here for Emersen's first birthday.
The rest of the weekend we did our normal errand stuff, some cleaning and went to the pool Sunday afternoon. Surprisingly the water wasn't too cold, but the afternoon storms didn't allow us much time in it to really test it out. Hopefully this weekend it will be nicer for us!
