New Adventures

Last Saturday, Matt and Nate got the "day off" while April and I took the girls on an adventure. It was a day of firsts for all of us, with a trip downtown to the Children's Museum. There was a lot of stuff going on downtown that day so instead of dealing with traffic and parking, we took Marta down there, which in itself is an adventure. I do have to say the stations are not "stroller" friendly. There are not many elevators in them so a few times we were wandering around trying to figure out how to get either down to the train or street level. Then on the trains, where the seats are, there is not any room to have a stroller next to you as it would block the whole walkway.

We made it downtown, and had to cut through Centennial Olympic Park to get to the museum, where the Black Arts Festival was going on, so the place was packed. We finally get to the museum and set the girls lose. This is the type of place that is extremely kid friendly and you can let them run wild. While we were there, we had some Chic-fil-a for lunch. E had nuggets for the first time. She seemed to like them, but was more interested in the fruit. The girls played in all the areas, and Maddy even went "fishing". They had a pond full of fake fish and frogs with fishing poles for the kids. We all had a good time, and while this place is for all ages, I think they will enjoy it more in another year or more.

California

Over 4th of July we took Emersen on her 1st cross country trip to California to see Nate's extended family. We all had a great time, and E got to see mimi and aunt Mindy again, as well as meet uncle Tim, and cousins Matt and Jared. She loved having the pool right in the backyard, and going swimming every day. Mimi had her eating ice cream every day as well and introduced her to nilla wafers.

Time, of course, flew while we were out there and finally when Emersen got adjusted to the 3 hour time difference it was time to go home. Hopefully we can make it out there soon so we can see everyone again!

Ketchup or Catchup From Emersen's 1st Birthday Party

Life with a 1 year old is busy. The times of just putting her down and being able to do whatever we wanted are long in the past. Now our days consist of playing, chasing, entertaining, feeding and making sure she is not getting into any mischief. Which with E, she is always up to something. Which is part of the reason for the delay in posting some pictures from E's birthday party. The big day was Saturday, June 26th. All of Emersen's friends were there, Maddy, John Michael, Sylvie, Wade and Camryn. Nate was the master chef with the grill that day cooking up some burgers, dogs and brats. E got some great presents from everyone and then was cake time. I have a new appreciation for Publix and them giving you a free smash cake when you purcahse a first birthday cake from them. What Emersen did to that cake, no one would have been able to eat the rest of it. But we survived, and I am thankful it is another year until her next birthday :-)

One Year Stats

I am a week behind, so it probably won't be until the weekend that I get some pics up from E's birthday party and our trip to California.

But here is what our little chunkers came in at at her one year appointment.

Height 30 1/2 inches
Weight 23 pounds 14 ounces
Head Circumference 47 inches

On all of these she was in the 90% percentile, so she is just a big girl all around!
