Halloween 2010

We had a little mouse in the house this year, but the name of Minnie. Originally we had planned on Emersen being Tinkerbell for her 2nd Halloween, but last weekend when we attempted to do a trial run to make sure it fit, Emersen had other plans. Not sure if it was the material or the glitter on the costume that got into her eyes, but she freaked out. Also why a company would put glitter on a 12-18 months old costume is beyond me. So the next day I went to Toys R Us and got something that I hoped she would wear.

In typical Emersen fashion she put up a small fight, but once I got out the camera she was some what ok with it, though the head part she pulled back as quick as she could. She didn't go out and do any trick or treating in the neighborhood, but at school on Friday they dressed up and had a Halloween party. Hopefully next year her bedtime is a little later than 6:30 and we can go around the neighborhood.

Laptop Fall Down and Go BOOM!

No excuses as to why the number of blogs this month have been lower than usual, life with a toddler keeps me busier than ever. As well as that job thing, upkeep of the house, a needy terrier, the new season of TV shows to watch, football...you get the picture.

But one of the main reasons is that our "triple b" (big bad baby) broke my laptop so that it is now unusable. The screen cracked and a good portion is now just grey fuzzy lines. So until we breakdown and get a new one, blogs will probably be more intermittent. Though if we are able to get Emersen into her costume this weekend, one will be coming soon, though i am not holding my breath. We had to return the first costume, as she flipped out when we tried it on to make sure it fit. We have a new costume, and tried to put it on after school the other day. She wanted nothing of it, but i am thinking maybe in the morning she will put it on. More to come!

Fall Fun

Last weekend we went on an excusion down to McDonough, GA, which is a suburb of Atlanta, but 45 minutes south of where we live, to Southern Belle Farm. A co-worker of mine had told me about this place where she had a great experience with her girls, so us and the Ledom's decided to take a trip down there to check it out and also get us some pumpkins.

This farm is just not a farm with pumpkins and other veggies, they also had farm animals, a corn maze, a counting horse, pigglet races, hay rides, a cow ride, corn husk gun and a bouncey thing. We started off in the pumpkin patch and got our pumpkins for halloween, then we went over and saw all the different farm animals. I think this is the first time Emersen has seen most of these animals. She saw a calf and a cow, chickens, goats, a horse and piggies. Then we went on the cow ride (not on an actual cow though), and the adults shot some corn ears out of the corn gun. I am pretty sure the girls had a great time and we will definately be back down there next year.
Emersen goes for the biggest pumpkin first.
