Last weekend over President's weekend I, yes just I, went down to Tampa to see Nikki and meet her fiance Dave for the first time. Let me back up, 3 Friday's ago I got the call that most in our family thought would never happen, Nikki got engaged. It has been over 4 years since I have been down to Tampa, so I was planning the trip anyway. But it worked out the weekend before I was there he proposed. They are pulling a Heather and Nate and getting married really quickly, probably in August sometime. And no, she is not preggo. She doesn't want to deal with an anniversary during football season since Dave has season tickets to FSU, so that cuts out the fall, and then they are both accountants, so that cuts out the first quarter of next year. So they are doing it this August down in Tampa. That is about all I know right now :)
Anyway, I went down to Tampa, got to meet Dave, go to Busch Gardens, see a bunch of friends and had a great time. I did miss my baby girl though. I got home on Monday afternoon and Nate picked me up at the airport. He had taken the day off as well, so we went and got some lunch. After that we came home and I walked in to my surprise, Nate had gotten the TV moved in the living room and in turn rearranged the furniture. We have been talking for a while about moving the TV to above the mantel, ever since Emersen found an interest in climbing all over the couch and almost going over the back a couple of times.
It was a little shocking at first, and I am still debating if we need new couches. Ours are too over sized for the space that we have. I think a sectional or something would give us a lot more room. But for once we are not going to be spontaneous and just buy it, we are going to try to be smart about it and measure everything out and make sure it will fit better than what we have. But our current furniture is growing on me, I moved a couple of things and rearranged items on the tables and it is looking better. The last thing we need to do is get the picture on the wall, but I want to see if we get new furniture or not first.
