Coming Home Surprise

Last weekend over President's weekend I, yes just I, went down to Tampa to see Nikki and meet her fiance Dave for the first time. Let me back up, 3 Friday's ago I got the call that most in our family thought would never happen, Nikki got engaged. It has been over 4 years since I have been down to Tampa, so I was planning the trip anyway. But it worked out the weekend before I was there he proposed. They are pulling a Heather and Nate and getting married really quickly, probably in August sometime. And no, she is not preggo. She doesn't want to deal with an anniversary during football season since Dave has season tickets to FSU, so that cuts out the fall, and then they are both accountants, so that cuts out the first quarter of next year. So they are doing it this August down in Tampa. That is about all I know right now :)

Anyway, I went down to Tampa, got to meet Dave, go to Busch Gardens, see a bunch of friends and had a great time. I did miss my baby girl though. I got home on Monday afternoon and Nate picked me up at the airport. He had taken the day off as well, so we went and got some lunch. After that we came home and I walked in to my surprise, Nate had gotten the TV moved in the living room and in turn rearranged the furniture. We have been talking for a while about moving the TV to above the mantel, ever since Emersen found an interest in climbing all over the couch and almost going over the back a couple of times.

It was a little shocking at first, and I am still debating if we need new couches. Ours are too over sized for the space that we have. I think a sectional or something would give us a lot more room. But for once we are not going to be spontaneous and just buy it, we are going to try to be smart about it and measure everything out and make sure it will fit better than what we have. But our current furniture is growing on me, I moved a couple of things and rearranged items on the tables and it is looking better. The last thing we need to do is get the picture on the wall, but I want to see if we get new furniture or not first.

Where does the time go?

I know, it has been over a month since the last post. Once again it has to do with a little bit of being busy and a little bit of being lazy and a broken laptop. I can come up with 100 excuses if you need me to. The main event was the snow storm that shut down Atlanta for almost a week. It started off as snow, which Emersen got to play in for a little bit, but then turned to sleet, which resulted in ice. Nate was out in Texas that week helping out Jeannine while Bob traveled for work, so it was just me, Emersen and Spencer. It was not a fun week for any of us, though thankfully by Thursday Emersen's school was open and I could go into work.

Emersen is starting to talk some more, though a lot of it is just babble. She does know a lot of words though. You can pretty much ask her to do anything and she knows what we are saying. She is very helpful at throwing stuff away for us and putting food in doodle's bowl. Right now she is home with a fever, though you would never think she is sick with the way she is playing. This is day 2 of her being home, so hopefully the fever is gone tomorrow so Nate and I can get back to work.

Didn't measure exactly how much we got, but in my 10+ years here have never gotten this much.

BIG Hugs!
